What are the benefits of mentoring for youth?

At Jefferson Mentoring, we believe that mentoring can have an immense impact on the trajectory of young people’s lives. By participating in our mentoring program, youth can gain valuable skills, build self-confidence, and receive guidance from an experienced mentor. Youth will also acquire an understanding mentor who will support them through the trials and be there to celebrate the tribulations with them!

Are there any costs associated with Jefferson Mentoring?

An initial 15-30 minute consultation will come completely free of charge! Proceeding that, each session will be priced at $55 a session and a monthly rate at a discounted $200 dollars a session. If you are looking for a different structure of mentoring, contact the mentor by phone number or email directly.

What is the Applied Skill Training?

Once the mentee has reached specific goals, the mentor will personally take them out on a 1 on 1 session into the real world where the mentee will be able to use obtained skills and apply them in real life situations.

Can your services support children with autism?

The mentoring and Applied Skills Training sessions are inclusive and designed to support youth with a wide range of learning styles and abilities. The mentor has professional experience working in ABA-based environments, which helps inform a structured, patient, and goal-oriented approach to skill building. However, our services are not ABA therapy or clinical treatment. We do not diagnose or provide behavioral therapy, counseling, or medical serrvices. Our focus is on practical life skills such as communication, routines, confidence, emotional awareness, and independence, using real-world practice and positive reinforcement. If your child currently receives ABA, occupational therapy, or counseling, our mentorship can be used as a supplemental, non-clinical support alongside those services.

What if my child is dealing with substance use or substance abuse?

Our mentoring and Applied Skills Training services provide supportive, non-clinical guidance for youth facing challenges such as decision-making, peer pressure, accountability, and life skills. The mentor has experience working with youth affected by substance use and emphasizes structure, consistency, clear expectations, and accountability. Sessions focus on responsibility, healthy routines, and goal-setting with ongoing encouragement. Services are not substance abuse treatment or therapy and do not replace licensed clinical care, but may be used as supplemental support alongside professional services when appropriate.

What if I want to book a more personalized session?

You can reach out directly to the mentor if you would like to structure/schedule a session or if you are in need of mentoring sessions outside of the available online options.
